Hometour Ilfie
On home tour in Nieuwendijk, at the characteristic National Monument the Three Locks, where a young family has taken up residence in the old steam pumping station. While on the outside the original state of this building should be maintained, the inside was allowed to be completely transformed. And whether that succeeded! The renovation of the building was behind us, but the young family lacked cohesion in the large rooms. Also, the interior was too serious; something exciting needed to happen. Fortunately, the couple knew their way to Kavel 84 in Waalwijk, where this wish could be met like no other. The confidence in the creativity of the interior stylists was there from moment one, which allowed them to go their own way. Everything was good and nothing was too crazy.
The home tour starts at the beginning: the entrance of the building. Here the interior stylists created a nod to the past - to the old function of the building - by means of a wavy wallpaper with shades of blue. This space is complemented by a calm color on the wall. But quiet, it does not remain so when you leave the hall and enter the living spaces. The day edges of the window frames are painted a shade of pink, well fluorescent pink. For Ilfie and the interior stylists, it was immediately clear that Tonone's Bridge pendant lamp had to be above the kitchen island.
